Vietnam Financial Centres Seek London’s Support for Development

Vietnam financial centres London cooperation was sought by Finance Minister Nguyen Van Thang, who urged deeper ties with the UK to support international financial hubs in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang, set to launch in December 2025. In talks with City of London Lord Mayor Alastair King, Thang thanked the UK for assisting with the legal framework and resolution underpinning the initiative, modelled partly on London. He called for greater collaboration in adopting common law, training talent and attracting UK investors, highlighting Vietnam’s push for institutional reform and digital transformation. King praised Vietnam’s ambition and pledged support, including TheCityUK expertise, while signalling interest in pension product cooperation. The project is expected to elevate Vietnam’s stock market classification and global standing.
