Taiwan pension fund external managers are set to receive additional mandates as the Public Service Pension Fund seeks greater exposure to international equity markets.

The USD49bn fund could allocate approximately USD200m each to several external managers providing access to overseas markets, according to people familiar with the plans.

The final allocation and investment strategies have yet to be determined.

Options being considered include passive and index-enhanced investment strategies.

The Public Service Pension Fund managed NTD1.57tr (USD49bn) at the end of June, including approximately USD11.5bn in offshore assets managed externally.

The initiative follows new overseas allocations from Taiwan's Bureau of Labor Funds and would represent the Public Service Pension Fund's latest external offshore mandate since 2023, highlighting continued demand from Taiwanese institutions for diversified global market exposure.
