South Korea US investments are set to expand with companies pledging USD150bn in new commitments during a Washington roundtable. Announced by the Federation of Korean Industries, the pledges cover semiconductors, AI, biotech, shipbuilding, and nuclear energy. They build on the USD350bn pledged under a recent trade agreement lowering US tariffs on Korean exports. Executives from Samsung Electronics, Nvidia, and other firms joined government officials to discuss deepening cooperation in batteries, mobility, and critical materials. The US and South Korea also reaffirmed plans to strengthen ties in shipbuilding and advanced manufacturing as energy demand rises in the AI era.
