Societe Generale Asia has appointed former UOB executive Joseph Chia as head of supply chain management for Asia Pacific as the bank expands its transaction banking franchise.

Based in Singapore, Chia will oversee accounts receivable and payable solutions across the region, reporting jointly to Asia Pacific transaction banking head Soo Tat Kua and Societe Generale Factoring Chief Executive Aurélien Viry.

He joins from UOB, where he served as senior vice-president for financial supply chain management.

The French bank said his experience across receivables, payables, digital trade and ESG-linked finance would support growing demand for open-account trade, working capital optimisation and digital supply chain solutions throughout Asia.

The appointment reflects increasing investment by international banks in transaction banking as regional companies modernise trade finance operations and adopt technology-driven working capital management.
