Singapore next-generation wealth hub credentials have been strengthened after the city-state ranked first in Asia-Pacific and sixth globally in Savills’ Next Generation Wealth Hubs Index.

The index assesses more than 100 wealth centres across business, governance and connectivity, wealth management and taxation, wealth clusters and lifestyle. Singapore led six Asia-Pacific cities that placed among the global top 30.

Savills said investment patterns among wealthy people under 40 are evolving as portfolios expand beyond traditional property holdings into private markets, venture capital, equities and operating businesses.

Real estate remains important for wealth preservation and succession planning, but younger investors are adopting broader approaches to capital allocation.

The change is being reinforced by technology and artificial intelligence, which are generating new sources of wealth.

Increasingly multi-jurisdictional lifestyles among wealthy families are also raising the importance of financial centres capable of supporting globally diversified investments and family wealth structures.
