Singapore family office boom is prompting a new certification programme to train lawyers in advisory roles, set to launch in 2026 as demand for expertise rises. Developed by the Wealth Management Institute and the Law Society of Singapore, the course will cover governance, compliance, cross-border structures, succession planning and tax issues. The move comes as the number of single-family offices granted tax exemptions has surged fivefold to more than 2,000 in five years, driving the need for legal professionals to serve ultra-wealthy clients. The programme, which qualifies for state funding, is part of Singapore’s broader plan to bolster professional capabilities and reinforce its position as a leading global hub for family offices and private wealth.
