SEI Singapore asset management operations have launched as the US asset management technology company seeks to expand its services and investment products across Asia-Pacific.

The new Singapore office will initially provide asset servicing, professional services and distribution of SEI’s UCITS funds.

The company expects to add locally relevant products and broaden its enterprise asset management, technology, operations and professional services as regional demand develops.

SEI appointed Connall McGuckian as managing director and head of Singapore.

He joins from State Street, where he spent 14 years and most recently served as chief operating officer for alternatives investment solutions in Asia-Pacific.

Singapore provides SEI with access to one of the region’s largest asset management centres.

Assets managed by Singapore-based firms increased 10% last year to SGD6.7tr (USD5.24tr), according to the Monetary Authority of Singapore, reinforcing the city-state’s position as a major regional investment hub.
