Maybank Islamic Banking CEO Role Goes to Mohamad Yasin Abdullah

Maybank Islamic Banking CEO post has been awarded to Mohamad Yasin Abdullah, who becomes group CEO of Islamic Banking and CEO of Maybank Islamic Bhd from 1 October 2025. Yasin, a Maybank veteran since 1997 with 28 years of experience, will lead the Islamic banking franchise as it pursues global leadership in the sector. He previously served as group chief audit executive, spearheading the group audit strategic plan. Maybank also appointed Malique Firdauz Ahmad Sidique as its new group chief audit executive, succeeding Yasin. The bank said these appointments underscore its commitment to succession planning and leadership strength to drive growth and maintain high governance standards.
