Mastercard Names Richard Wormald as Asia-Pacific President from 2026

Mastercard Asia-Pacific president role will be assumed by Richard Wormald from 1 January 2026, succeeding Ari Sarker, who will step down after more than a decade to take on an advisory role. Wormald, currently division president for Australasia, has led with a focus on innovation and stakeholder engagement. Mastercard also named Paul Monnington, former head of Woolworths’ Wpay unit, as Wormald’s successor for Australasia from 2026. Monnington, who held senior roles at Woolworths and NAB, will oversee Australia, New Zealand, and Pacific Island markets.
