Malaysia Fund Management Assets Rise 1.3% in H1 2025

Malaysia fund management assets under management increased 1.3% in the first half of 2025 to MYR1.083tr (USD212.5bn), Securities Commission Malaysia data show. Gains were supported by fixed income funds, which climbed 3.7% to MYR251.02bn, and money market funds, up 1.3% to MYR141.47bn. Equity fund assets declined 2.1% to MYR525.82bn, though the drop was less severe than the benchmark stock index’s 6.7% slide, reflecting concerns about US tariffs on imports. Total industry growth highlights investor preference for safe havens amid global trade tensions, while the regulator provided no additional analysis.
