HSBC Private Bank Hires Citi Veterans to Bolster Family Office Business

HSBC family office business capabilities are being strengthened with two senior appointments from Citi Private Bank covering global family offices and US private banking.
Hannes Hofmann will join as global head of family offices in a newly created London-based role, overseeing HSBC Private Bank’s family office offering worldwide.
Hofmann has more than 25 years of private banking experience and was most recently global head of Citi Private Bank’s family office group. He previously spent two decades at JPMorgan Private Bank.
Cayman Wills will join HSBC Private Bank on Sept. 22 as head of its US private banking business, based in New York. Wills previously led Citi Private Bank’s Northeast region.
The appointments strengthen HSBC’s senior leadership as the bank targets wealthy families requiring increasingly sophisticated cross-border investment, banking and wealth-planning services across multiple jurisdictions and generations.
