HSBC Adds 300,000 Wealth Clients in Hong Kong

HSBC has reported a significant increase in its wealth management business, driven by the addition of 300,000 new clients in Hong Kong in Q2 2025, up from 177,000 a year earlier. The bank’s global invested assets rose 12% year-on-year to over USD1.4tr, with USD22bn in net new inflows—half of which originated from Asia. Wealth management revenue jumped 22% to USD2.3bn, supported by growth across asset management, insurance, private banking, and investment distribution. HSBC is set to enhance its international wealth and premier banking unit with a focus on client acquisition in high-growth markets like Singapore. Ongoing investments include digital onboarding tools, new wealth centres, enhanced advisory services, and a fresh premier offering in key regions.
