Family offices, institutional investors and high-net-worth individuals are the focus of a new platform launched in Hong Kong to strengthen the city’s role as an international investment gateway.

The Hong Kong investor hub initiative, known as the Global Investor Institute, was founded by William Kwok and aims to connect capital with emerging technology opportunities across Asia and beyond.

The Hong Kong investor hub will provide a continuous platform for dialogue among institutional investors, family offices and venture capital participants, with particular emphasis on frontier technologies including artificial intelligence and blockchain.

It also seeks to strengthen links between Asia-based investors and the US venture capital ecosystem.

The institute previously hosted a Global Investor & Family Office Luncheon in April with support from InvestHK and Allan Zeman, chairman of Lan Kwai Fong Group. Kwok, a former adviser to emerging-markets investor Mark Mobius, was recently appointed a venture partner at Draper Dragon.

The launch reinforces Hong Kong’s ambition to attract global capital and strengthen its family office ecosystem.
