Hong Kong Investor Confidence Holds Steady at 68, Dah Sing Survey Finds

Hong Kong investor confidence remained resilient in August, with the Investor Confidence Index holding at 68 and 88% of respondents planning to maintain or increase investment allocations over the coming year.
The Dah Sing Banking survey covered 608 investors and found the headline confidence reading was broadly unchanged from a year earlier.
High-value investors holding more than HKD8m (USD1.02m) in liquid assets were the most optimistic group, recording an index reading of 75.
Equities remained the preferred asset class, with 56% of respondents expecting positive returns.
Investors forecast gains of 15% for the Hang Seng Index and 17% for the S&P 500.
Technology was the most popular investment theme, selected by 58%.
However, 49% expressed concern about elevated artificial intelligence-related valuations, while geopolitical risks and the possibility of an economic slowdown were also significant factors affecting investment sentiment.
