Hong Kong family office initiatives outlined in the city’s inaugural Five-Year Plan and 2026 Policy Address could strengthen its position as a global cross-border wealth management centre, according to Raffles Family Office.

Group CEO Chi Man Kwan said preferential tax regimes for funds and single-family offices, combined with measures to attract global capital, would deepen the ecosystem supporting independent multi-family offices.

Kwan also highlighted plans to broaden investment products and Hong Kong’s “Super Connector” role between mainland China and international markets.

The initiatives come as an estimated USD5.8tr in wealth is expected to pass to the next generation across Asia-Pacific by 2030, increasing demand for succession planning and cross-border wealth services.

More than 3,380 single-family offices are now based in Hong Kong, according to Raffles Family Office, which said it remains committed to helping families address cross-border succession and growth requirements.
