The Hong Kong business outlook remains resilient despite increased economic uncertainty, with companies continuing to prioritise overseas expansion, digital transformation and supply-chain resilience, according to UOB's Business Outlook Study 2026.

The survey suggests businesses remain cautiously optimistic about future growth despite softer current sentiment.

Among 255 business owners and senior executives surveyed, 63% viewed current business conditions positively, compared with 73% in 2024.

However, confidence in the year ahead remained strong, with 76% expressing optimism about future prospects.

Approximately 79% of respondents plan to expand internationally over the next three years, identifying ASEAN and mainland China as their preferred destinations.

Meanwhile, 86% highlighted supply-chain resilience as a strategic priority and 93% reported adopting digital technologies, although only 53% said implementation had achieved their desired outcomes.

Sustainability also remained important for 86% of businesses.

The findings suggest the Hong Kong business outlook continues to support long-term regional expansion despite ongoing economic challenges.
