The Hong Kong Monetary Authority has reassigned five executive director roles in a lateral reshuffle aimed at grooming its next generation of leaders, Bloomberg and local media reported.

The HKMA leadership reshuffle will see Kenneth Hui, currently executive director for external affairs, move to banking conduct, while Archie Ng, executive director for corporate services, will take over monetary management.

Alan Au, now executive director for banking conduct, will become executive director for risk and compliance and chief risk officer of the Exchange Fund Investment Office.

Grace Lau will move to corporate services, while Daryl Ho will take over the external role.

The reported changes come as HKMA chief executive Eddie Yue, 61, and three deputy chief executives are around or approaching 60.
