The Hang Seng wealth network is expanding across Hong Kong as the bank seeks to capture stronger demand from high-net-worth clients despite uncertainty surrounding Beijing’s scrutiny of mainland residents’ overseas investments.

Hang Seng Bank has opened a 6,300-square-foot wealth centre at Hysan Place in Causeway Bay, its second new facility this year, and plans further openings over the next 12 to 18 months.

The lender also aims to increase its relationship-manager workforce by around 20% this year.

Its wealth-management business recorded strong double-digit growth in the first half, while the bank added 60,000 customers during the second quarter.

Separately, AXA Hong Kong and Macau has agreed to lease 97,500 square feet at International Gateway Centre for a regional wealth hub serving Hong Kong, Macau and other Asian clients, including wealthy individuals. Occupancy is expected in early 2028.
