FinEx Club AI Governance Initiative Highlights Tokenisation and Board Oversight
Updated: Jul 27

FinEx Club AI governance was a central theme at the organisation's Strategic Advisory Board reception in Hong Kong, where members reviewed a year of initiatives spanning financial markets, tokenisation, artificial intelligence and executive development.
The event brought together founder and chairman Morris Hui, senior adviser Jonathan Watkin, chief executive of Asia First Financial Insights, and other advisory board members.
Lawrence Au introduced the FinEx Club Research Centre, while Biswajyoti Upadhyay outlined the organisation's value proposition and Vincent Huen presented developments within FinEx Academy and Consulting.
Artificial intelligence governance specialist Alfons Futterer told participants that boards should strengthen oversight as AI agents increasingly undertake delegated decision-making.
He argued governance frameworks must move closer to the point where AI systems act, supported by clearly defined permissions, human supervision, runtime monitoring and comprehensive audit trails.
The event reflected the growing emphasis among financial institutions on responsible AI governance alongside innovation in tokenisation, private markets and digital finance.
