Deutsche Bank Hong Kong Wealth Growth Accelerates on Chinese Flows

Deutsche Bank Hong Kong wealth business is recording strong growth as increasing Chinese client activity makes the city the private bank’s best-performing emerging-market region this year.
Marco Pagliara, head of emerging markets at Deutsche Bank Private Bank, said activity had increased across trading, lending against physical assets and real estate.
Chinese clients have been particularly active in trophy property transactions, reflecting broader demand for investment and financing services among wealthy mainland customers.
Deutsche Bank has hired more than 30 private bankers across its emerging-market operations during 2026 and continues to increase headcount.
Its emerging-markets business is on track to onboard around 30% more clients this year, according to Pagliara.
Southeast Asia is also expanding almost as quickly as Greater China, highlighting the importance of Asian wealth creation and cross-border capital flows to Deutsche Bank’s broader private banking growth strategy.
