Asian Financial Forum Hong Kong

The Asian Financial Forum opened in Hong Kong as global policymakers and finance executives gathered to discuss the global outlook and reinforce the city’s position as an international financial centre and a bridge between mainland China and global markets.

The 19th Asian Financial Forum, co-organised by the Hong Kong government and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, is being held under the theme “Co-creating New Horizons amid an Evolving Landscape” with the tagline “Finance Empowering Business”.

Organisers said more than 150 speakers are taking part and attendance is expected to exceed 3,600 participants from over 60 countries and regions.

Opening remarks were delivered by Chief Executive John Lee and People’s Bank of China deputy governor Zou Lan.

Sessions include wealth management, supply-chain finance and a new discussion on gold trading aimed at developing Hong Kong into an international gold exchange.
