Asia-Pacific’s affluent investors remain broadly optimistic despite geopolitical tensions, inflation pressures and market volatility, according to research by private bank Lombard Odier.
The Asia wealthy investors survey covered more than 390 high-net-worth individuals across regional markets and found confidence remains strong despite growing uncertainty.
Recession was identified as the leading concern by 53.5% of respondents, followed by worries about a major equity-market correction and trade disputes.
Investors in Taiwan, Hong Kong and the Philippines were particularly concerned about US-China tensions.
Despite these risks, more than 80% of Asia wealthy investors said they remained confident that their portfolios would achieve long-term objectives.
However, the survey found that only around one in five investors followed a comprehensive asset-allocation strategy.
The findings suggest that while confidence remains resilient, many wealthy individuals may benefit from more structured portfolio construction and long-term planning.
