The APEC CEO Summit 2025 opened in South Korea, with global business and political leaders urging stronger multilateral cooperation and supply-chain resilience amid geopolitical and technological challenges. President Lee Jae Myung pledged to prioritise coordination as APEC chair, calling supply-chain collaboration “the core of solidarity.” US President Donald Trump highlighted new trade deals with Malaysia, Cambodia, and Japan and the possibility of a pact with China. OECD head Mathias Cormann warned global growth could slow to 2.9% in 2026.
