AmCham Korea US Investment Roundtable Highlights Policy Priorities

AmCham Korea US investment roundtable

AmCham Korea US investment roundtable discussions were held during the first official visit to Seoul by US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau. The closed-door meeting gathered senior executives from leading US and Korean firms across sectors from automotive to digital services. Talks focused on reducing non-tariff barriers, enhancing Korea’s competitiveness, and strengthening bilateral economic ties. AmCham chair James Kim praised Landau’s leadership and said chamber initiatives, including its “Buy America” campaign, align closely with Washington’s priorities. Executives raised concerns about Korea’s relatively low number of multinational regional headquarters and labour mobility amid tightened US immigration inspections. Landau reaffirmed the US commitment to advancing a “strong, mutually beneficial” partnership.
