AllianzGI UOB Asset Management

The AllianzGI UOB Asset Management transaction will expand Allianz Global Investors’ presence across Southeast Asia and strengthen its investment capabilities in several high-growth Asian markets.

AllianzGI has agreed to acquire UOB Asset Management from Singapore’s UOB Group for SGD555m (USD433m), subject to regulatory approval.

The transaction is expected to close in 2027 and includes a long-term distribution agreement enabling AllianzGI to offer investment products through UOB’s network of more than eight million customers.

UOBAM manages approximately EUR28bn in assets and operates across eight Asian markets, including Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam.

AllianzGI said the acquisition would increase its Asia-Pacific assets under management to more than EUR170bn.

The deal will also broaden AllianzGI’s capabilities in Southeast Asian equities and Sharia-compliant investments while providing greater access to UOB’s regional customer and distribution network.
