Affluent Singaporeans are increasingly embracing the “mini-retirement” trend, with 49% planning multiple career breaks of six to 12 months, slightly above the 45% global average, according to HSBC’s Quality of Life: Affluent Investor Snapshot 2025. The survey, covering 10,000 wealthy individuals across 12 markets, including 701 from Singapore, found only 62% of affluent Singaporeans confident about returning to work compared with 74% globally. Funding strategies also varied: 52% plan to rely on investment income versus 45% worldwide, 56% on personal savings, and 37% on pension funds, both higher than global averages. HSBC highlighted the importance of early wealth planning for affluent Singaporeans to balance lifestyle aspirations with long-term financial security.
