The Ministry of Planning and Investment in Vietnam is set to launch ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) performance criteria in Q3. These standards, which have become integral in global business, aim to guide businesses in their ESG adoption. Trịnh Thị Hương, deputy director of the Enterprise Development Agency (EDA), noted that while large-scale enterprises had started integrating ESG, smaller businesses were just beginning. A recent survey showed 83% of respondents believed ESG would enhance their brand and reputation. The EDA is creating a free self-assessment tool for companies to evaluate their ESG performance. Experts emphasise the importance of ESG adoption in maintaining competitive advantage and accessing an expanding pool of ESG-focused investment capital.
