Vietnam reminds foreign-backed e-commerce firms on new rules

The Vietnam E-commerce and Digital Economy Agency has reminded foreign-invested e-commerce floors doing business in the country to make sure they supplement their business licences before January 1, 2023, if they have not provided enough according to regulations. The agency earlier announced the addition of business licences for foreign-invested economic organisations operating in the field of e-commerce. Decree 85 specifically provides that foreign traders and organisations that have websites providing e-commerce services in Vietnam must register for e-commerce activities and set up representative offices in the country according to the provisions of law or appoint a representative according to regulations of authorization in Vietnam.
