Trafigura tops inaugural Southeast Asia Fortune 500 list

Updated: Jul 22, 2024

Commodity trader Trafigura topped the inaugural Southeast Asian edition of the Fortune 500 list with USD244bn in sales, despite a recent US bribery probe. Trafigura is the second most profitable among the top 10 companies on the list, which ranks firms by revenue. Four other Singapore-based companies also made the top 10: Wilmar International (4th), Olam Group (5th), Flex (8th), and DBS (10th). Fortune’s list, which includes companies from seven Southeast Asian nations, reflects the region’s growing significance in the global economy. Indonesia led with 110 companies, followed by Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore. The top 10 companies reported USD650bn in revenue, over one-third of the total USD1.8tr from the Southeast Asia 500.
