South Korean internet-only bank Toss Bank becomes the first digital lender in the country to accept online accounts opened by foreign residents. As long as they have registration cards, foreigners living in South Korea will be allowed to open an account and be offered services same as for the locals. The bank targets some 1.9 million foreign residents who are still cut off from the nation’s financial services. A Toss Bank official said the bank’s customer service would reach out to foreigners having a hard time finding the services they need due to language barriers.
