Tokenised money adoption is accelerating among major businesses, with 88% of executives surveyed by DBS Group reporting that their companies were already using or piloting digital forms of money.

The bank's report, The Great Rewiring: Money in a New Order, surveyed 422 business leaders across 11 markets.

Stablecoins were the most widely adopted or planned instruments, cited by 63% of respondents, followed by tokenised deposits at 53% and tokenised money market funds at 52%.

DBS Group Head of Global Transaction Services Lim Soon Chong said investment in tokenised money could match or exceed spending on traditional payment and settlement infrastructure within two to three years.

Businesses are increasingly exploring digital money to improve liquidity management and cross-border transaction efficiency.

The survey also found that 78% of respondents were diversifying settlement currencies amid international trade volatility.

The findings highlight potential implications for financial institutions, asset managers and family offices seeking more efficient digital settlement and liquidity solutions.
