Taiwan Tops Global Financial Inclusion Rankings with Digital Payment Growth

Taiwan has surpassed global averages in key financial inclusion benchmarks, according to the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC). The nation reported 165 ATMs and 17 bank branches per 100,000 adults, far above global figures.


Digital and mobile transactions also surged, with over 5.6 million mobile payments recorded, while 93.3% of adults held bank accounts and 81.6% used digital payments.


Taiwan also reported growth in microinsurance and life insurance for low-income and vulnerable groups, highlighting its progress in responsible financial access.
