
About 80% of Taiwan's ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWIs) expect to increase their wealth this year despite only 26% of these super rich seeing their wealth rise last year. A survey conducted by property consultancy REPro Knight Frank Taiwan showed that Taiwan's super rich are even more optimistic than their global peers when it comes to gaining wealth this year. Globally, only 68% of UHNWIs are upbeat about wealth increase. UHNWIs are those with investable assets in excess of USD30m. Taiwan’s UHNWIs fared worse than their global peers last year, with only 26% seeing their wealth increase and 74% suffering losses, the survey showed. Asked about risks ahead, 67% of the world’s super-rich named inflation as the biggest downside risk, followed by interest rate hikes, geopolitical tensions, and recession.
