Taiwan Economic Growth Forecast Reaches 11.6% on AI Demand

The Taiwan economic growth forecast for 2026 stands at 11.6%, supported by strong artificial intelligence demand, resilient exports and investment, according to DBS Bank.
The Singapore-based lender maintained its projection despite concerns about higher energy costs, while forecasting that economic growth would moderate to 5.6% in 2027.
DBS senior economist Ma Tieying said technology products and electronic components accounted for nearly 80% of Taiwan's exports during the first nine months of 2026.
Continued spending by US cloud service providers and strong semiconductor sales are expected to sustain export performance and business investment.
Rising equity prices and wages are also supporting household consumption.
DBS expects inflation to reach 2% in 2026 and 2.1% in 2027.
The outlook highlights Taiwan's exposure to global AI infrastructure spending and semiconductor demand, offering potential opportunities for family offices and institutional investors seeking technology-related investments.
