Swiss Re names new Greater China chief

Global insurance giant Swiss Re has named former AIG executive Jeffrey Pan as its Greater China CEO based in Shanghai. In a statement, Swiss Re said Pan’s appointment takes effect from April 11. He will also become a member of the corporate solutions APAC executive team. Pan joins from AIG where he spent 17 years, most recently as general manager of AIG International Consulting (Shanghai). He also worked at Berkshire Hathaway-owned Gen Re and PICC. Headquartered in Zurich, Swiss Re is the world’s largest reinsurer, as measured by net premiums written. Swiss Re operates through a network of around 80 offices globally. Its approximately 13,200 employees provide a wide range of technical expertise.
