South Korea and US expand collaboration in advanced tech sectors


South Korea and the United States are increasing their collaboration in advanced science and technology sectors, including space, quantum technology, and biotechnology, following President Yoon Suk Yeol's recent state visit to Washington. The Korean Ministry of Science and ICT stated that building a solid partnership with the US, a technological leader, is crucial for Korea to secure technological leadership. The ministry expects Korea to strengthen its position as a global technological powerhouse by establishing an extensive science and technology partnership with the US. The two countries will focus their collaboration in the space sector, and a joint statement issued by the science ministry and NASA signifies a step forward in bilateral space cooperation towards a full-fledged space alliance.
