Singapore family office tax rules have been relaxed to provide greater operational flexibility while stronger checks are introduced on the origins of family wealth.
The Monetary Authority of Singapore said revised conditions for single-family office funds took effect on Aug. 1.
Applicants will receive more time to recruit investment professionals and greater flexibility in meeting requirements covering local expenditure and capital deployment.
MAS has also removed continuous monitoring of minimum assets under management held in designated investments, reducing some administrative burdens for qualifying structures.
However, anti-money laundering requirements have been strengthened, with screening expanded to cover people who contributed to the source of a family's funds.
The changes seek to balance Singapore's competitiveness as an international family office centre with stronger safeguards against illicit wealth.
The city-state was home to more than 2,000 tax-incentivised single-family offices at the end of 2025.
