Singapore bank wealth management fees

Singapore bank wealth management fees could weaken in the third quarter of 2026 as softer equity markets reduce transaction income and investors assess financial institutions' exposure to artificial intelligence financing.

Analysts expect DBS Group, Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation and United Overseas Bank to remain financially resilient despite continued pressure on net interest margins.

Jefferies forecasts quarter-on-quarter declines of 6% in overall fee income at DBS and 16% at OCBC.

UOB, however, could report an 8% increase in fee income during the same period.

Investors are also examining the banks' exposure to data centre financing and other AI infrastructure-related lending.

Higher bond yields could create additional pressure by affecting the valuation of banks' investment portfolios and regulatory capital ratios.

The outlook highlights the challenges facing Singapore's major financial institutions as wealth management activity fluctuates and technology-related lending expands.

For private banking clients and family offices, the developments underline the importance of monitoring financial sector risks alongside investment opportunities.
