Sea Ltd has opened a 10‑storey, 200,000‑sq‑ft headquarters for its digital financial arm at Rochester Commons in Singapore and rebranded the unit from SeaMoney to Monee, underscoring plans to scale regional fintech services. The building will house more than 1,000 staff—rising to 1,500—and host centres of excellence for product management, artificial intelligence and anti‑money‑laundering. Monee, which runs mobile wallets, payments, credit, banking and insurtech in eight Asian markets and Brazil, also operates Singapore digital bank MariBank. Sea said the simpler brand mirrors sister e‑commerce platform Shopee and its mission to broaden financial inclusion. The move highlights support from government agencies such as MAS, EDB and Enterprise Singapore for tech investment in the city‑state. Sea’s other businesses include Garena online games and is targeting regional expansion.
