
Prudential now has a presence in 24 markets across Asia and Africa after it received approval from Macau to establish a branch of its Hong Kong business. The British insurance company will initially offer life and health insurance policies in the neighbouring special administrative region through agents. The options will include multiple currency choices to meet customers' needs for savings, health care and protection. Lawrence Lam Chi-kong, chief executive of Prudential Hong Kong will have management and performance oversight of the Macau branch. He said that the establishment of the Macau branch is a key milestone for the group's Greater Bay Area strategy. The firm has appointed Chris Ma as the general manager of Prudential Macau. He was chief executive of AIA Macau before joining Prudential.
