Philippines ranks higher in global investor relations

The Philippines climbed significantly in the 2023 Investor Relations and Debt Transparency Report by the Institute of International Finance (IIF), ranking third out of 41 countries in investor relations practices. It showed a remarkable increase of 6.4 index points from the previous year, where it stood 12th. The finance secretary, Benjamin Diokno, credited this to their strategic investor relations efforts and bilateral meetings. The country also jumped to second place in Debt Transparency, scoring 11.8 from its 20th place in the prior year. Furthermore, it secured third place in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Data and Policy Dissemination, a leap from its 16th place last year. The IIF provided technical recommendations to further enhance investor relations and debt transparency practices.
