The recent meeting between the Filipino and Chinese business leaders with Philippine President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has solidified the business group’s support for the initiatives of the government to usher the economy into the new normal. The two-hour dialogue centred on issues of power and the ease of doing business in the country. Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry vice president Cecilio Pedro said the President is serious in helping the business sector to continue business in the Philippines. Pedro said that Marcos wants more expansion from the business sector, especially from local investors first, adding that the confidence of the local businessmen will enhance investments from foreign companies. Marcos also told the group that resolving the power situation in the country is a priority of his administration.
