OCBC to Lend SGD5bn to Founders Across Southeast Asia

OCBC Bank has set a SGD5bn lending target through 2028 to support serial entrepreneurs in Southeast Asia, extending its founder-centric banking model beyond Singapore into Malaysia, Indonesia, and Hong Kong. The initiative has already disbursed SGD1.5bn to over 1,800 founders since 2019.

OCBC’s strategy departs from traditional lending by assessing founders based on their track record and portfolio, offering tailored packages and advisory services in sectors such as healthcare, education, and F&B. With the rise of repeat entrepreneurs in the region, OCBC is positioning itself as a long-term partner for early-stage ventures and SMEs.
