
In the first five months of this year, 98,825 enterprises either entered or re-entered the market in Vietnam, marking a 4.1% increase from the previous year, as reported by the Agency for Business Registration under the Ministry of Planning and Investment. Of these, 64,758 were newly established, showing a 4.5% rise. The registered capital for new enterprises reached VND601tr (USD24.5bn), up 5.7%. However, the overall registered capital added to the economy declined by 9% to VND1.27 quadrillion. Meanwhile, 18,567 existing businesses increased their capital, though this was 12.1% fewer than last year, with the additional capital totaling VND666.89tr, a 19.2% percent decrease. Despite these mixed results, the average registered capital per enterprise grew by 1.2% to VND9.3bn.
