More tourists likely to be allowed to enter Japan

From the current 20,000 tourists, Japan is reportedly set to increase the daily limit on tourists to 50,000 as soon as next month and would likely ease the need for a negative Covid-19 test to enter. According to reports, which cited government officials, Japan is now looking at joining the rest of the world in easing pandemic curbs, having been the last rich economy with stringent entry requirements. Authorities are also reportedly considering allowing fully vaccinated people to enter without the need for Covid-19 tests. Currently, travellers need to submit negative results from a PCR test taken within 72 hours of departure to Japan.
