The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) has appointed Fullerton Fund Management, JP Morgan Asset Management, and Avanda Investment Management as the first asset managers under its Equity Market Development Programme.
A combined SGD1.1bn (USD859m) will be allocated to enhance liquidity and participation in Singapore-listed equities, particularly small and mid-cap stocks. The initiative is part of a wider SGD5bn fund launched in February 2025 to attract third-party capital and strengthen the local capital market.
MAS stated that over 100 asset managers have shown interest in the programme, which remains open for additional participants.
