Malaysia secures USD7.9bn in digital tech investments


Malaysia has attracted over MYR37.4bn (USD7.9bn) in investment commitments for the digital technology sector by August 2023, translating to nearly 15,895 high-value job opportunities, announced Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil. This investment influx underscores foreign investor trust in the Malaysia Digital initiative. The recent MYR19.84bn collaboration between Malaysian and Chinese companies, overseen by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, strengthens Malaysia's allure for global investors. The ongoing Malaysia Digital Expo 2023, led by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corp, aims to bolster Malaysia's digital presence in the ASEAN region, drawing over 150,000 global participants. The expo encompasses various nationwide events, climaxing in the MDX grand finale and awards dinner.
