Malaysia's digital economy to contribute 22.6% of GDP by 2025

Malaysia's digital economy is forecast to account for nearly a quarter of the country's gross domestic product by 2025, according to a government official. Additionally, the sector is expected to create over 500,000 jobs, said Science, Technology, and Innovation Minister Adham Baba. To achieve this goal, Adham said Malaysia has recently launched the Malaysia Digital Economy Blueprint (MyDigital) to help guide the country's transformation into a digitally-driven, high-income nation, and a regional leader in the digital economy. Adham was keynote speaker at the Huawei Asia Pacific Digital Innovation Conference 2022 held in Singapore.
