Malaysia expects stronger GDP growth in Q3

Malaysia’s Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz has expressed confidence that the country’s economy in Q3 of this year will show stronger growth based on current positive economic indicators. He said the economic growth was in line with the unemployment rate, which was recorded at 3.7% in July, compared to 3.8% previously. The rate was also better than the unemployment rate during the pandemic, which was around 5.3% in May 2020. Tengku Zafrul said the gross domestic product in the second quarter of 2022 showed excellent growth compared to the previous projection of 8.9%. He also said that the Budget 2023 will focus on four main issues, namely the people, business, economy, and government.
