Dutch bank ING has named Gautam Saxena as its new head of corporate finance for the Asia-Pacific region, overseeing 11 markets including Australia, China and India. Saxena will report to Rob Van Veldhuizen, the global head of corporate finance. With a 25-year career spanning Asia-Pacific and North America, Saxena has extensive experience in investment banking, having served at major institutions like Bank of America Merrill Lynch, HSBC, ABN AMRO, and Lazard. His expertise covers mergers, acquisitions, and various capital market activities. Saxena has also ventured into impact investing, founding Pegasus 7 Ventures, which focuses on sustainable technology businesses in Asia and Africa. His appointment is part of ING’s strategy to expand its global investment banking operations.
